The Celtics are gearing up and getting ready for what could be a historic season. This is amazing news for the city of Boston but tough news for the fans. The downside to a popular team is just that… a popular team. It often leaves fans who can’t afford season tickets or those who don’t have the time or money to overpay for illegally marked up single-game tickets on the outside looking in. Of course there is always StubHub, Ebay, or one of those other companies out there but often times those alternatives are either cost prohibitive or they are not 100% fail proof – sometimes both! The worry of getting legit tickets keeps you from enjoying the amazing feeling of having that entrance music pumping through you as KG’s face lights up the Jumbotron and instills a sense of “this moment is AMAZING” into everyone in the Garden. In a perfect world, there would be a safe, secure and more economical way to secure these tickets and ensure that you are there to live every moment from KG’s scream to the final buzzer without the stress.
This season, there is – OptionIt.com. Recently, the Boston Celtics announced that OptionIt would be their exclusive ticket options provider for the 2009/2010 season. The announcement gives fans a different way to access face value tickets for regular and post season games and for someone like me, it makes total sense.
First, let’s talk about money, money, money… it makes the world go ‘round but it doesn’t have to make your head spin.
With OptionIt, you are simply purchasing an “option” to buy Celtics tickets without taking on the obligation of actually paying for the ticket. For example, let’s say you want to purchase four tickets to the regular season opener when the C’s host the Charlotte Bobcats on October 28th. With OptionIt you are guaranteed seats today when you pay $42 for four options to buy tickets having a face value of $380. PLUS you don’t have to pay for the $380 tickets just yet. Your option provides the flexibility for you to wait up to the drop dead date (usually a week prior to game day – sorry, already went by, how about next week’s game?!) before you decide what to do.
With OptionIt, you can purchase options for Celtics regular season and potential (but expected) post season games. The option prices vary depending upon the expected demand for the game at the time you purchase the option and the number of seats you purchase (seats are sold in 2, 3, and 4 seat packages in either the Balcony or Loge section).
Buying an option provides a few other creature comforts per se.
Let’s refer back to that same home opener against the Bobcats on October 28. Same four tickets…three of your friends can’t make it because something came up and now there’s a conflict in scheduling. It’s still a little over a week until the game and you haven’t exercised your option. At this point, instead of being stuck with the face value tickets, you are only out the cost of the option. In fact, you can even turn around and try to sell the right to that option on the OptionIt aftermarket at whatever price you set.
Or maybe, you can all go to the game for the all-in total of $422 total (option price + face value ticket price) and enjoy a premier game at less than premier pricing. Going to the home opener in what could easily be the “Year of Banner #18” for $106 per person sounds like a NO-BRAINER…
But is there a risk?
OptionIt: An Official Partner of the Celtics
Ok, so you’ve used StubHub before and you are comfortable with them and now you’re wondering, “What is this OptionIt company and can I trust them?”
ABSOLUTELY!
OptionIt is an official partner of the Boston Celtics and they guarantee the tickets which OptionIt provides on their website. Seats are sold in either the Loge or Balcony sections with the section number and potential row number listed for you. Seats will be confirmed upon purchase and are guaranteed to be together.
Convenience, flexibility, affordability, upside potential, safety and peace of mind – that is what OptionIt provides.
And it is the best option for single game tickets for sold out teams like your Boston Celtics.
