3 + 3 + 1 = American Idol?

The night of Tuesday, May 12th was so inspiring that it spawned this blog.

3 teams + 3 wins + 1 night = 1 kick ass blog.

I will start by saying that with all three teams playing (Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins), my heart belongs to the first two before all else.

I fully understand that the Bruins have been putting on a good run, a come out of no-where season (of course, the die-hard chowdah heads will say they saw it coming), and are making a strong push for Lord Stanley’s Cup. Odds are, it’s just a matter of time at this point as they proved last night with a strong effort to beat the Hurricanes 4-2 to even the series after being down 3-1. That game last night may draw me to watching more of the Bruins (Game 7 and beyond!), maybe… just maybe…

The Celtics on the other hand are “dropping it like it’s hot”, as the kids these days say (or do they still say that?) and rallied to beat the Mickey Mouse Magic after playing approximately 3.5 quarters of JV basketball against a slightly better JV basketball team. And who sparked this turnaround?

None other than Stephon Marbury. “What?! What happened to Rondo?” you are probably asking yourself. Hey, it happens. Starbury’s big shots mid-way through the 4th quarter definitely struck a nerve with the Magic and they were never the same again. They are even facing “in team” fighting now between Superman and Papa Roni (Coach Van Gundy) over how many times the big man touched the ball in last night’s game. Could this spell disaster? Tune in next time to find out.

P.S. Thanks Boston Globe for the sexy shot of the celebration after Ray Allen FINALLY took a breathe of life and hit the big three that put the C’s up for good. After losing Game 1 twice (being down 28 and then coming back in the 4th to lose again), it was nice to see some progress in this game 5.

As for the Red Sox, another late night for the fans in Beantown. West Coast games are killer and the people out there in La-La Land don’t even know it! All they know is they either watch games at 4pm in the afternoon or 7pm in the evening. But the jokes on them, I know what happens in every Prime Time sitcom, reality show, and drama hours before they do! I will make sure to post the final 2 for American Idol as soon as I find out to get you back for my sleepiness in the mornings this week.

But I digress.

The Sox are holding steady right where they are… “THEY ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE!” Yes, yes… they are. Even with a slumping (is that the right word?) Papi, a very shaky starting rotation (at the moment), and Julio Lugo back in the line-up. Sorry Lugo but I want to see Nick Green at SS every day. Every. Day.

Start the Lugo/Papi bidding now. I bet right now we could probably get some home plate tickets to Yankee Stadium for them is about it. Meh.

Well that’s it for now. More to come tomorrow.

P.S. Just had a huge bee fly at my head, not sure what that means but time to go!

Keep ballin’!

When Wake goes bad it usually lasts for a number of starts. If he joins the ranks of the other startes that have been up & down this could become an even larger issue that it is today. The key is getting the right mix of 5 starters from the large group available.
